BioDoctor, scientist, doll collector and serial killer are a few of the things this man is.
Manipulative and bright, a demon dressed as an angel. As a doctor he is respected but he keeps the darker side of his life a secret from the public eye.
Muraki's twisted personality first originated during his childhood due to the loss of his family under shady circumstances; after this, his mad desire to bring his half-brother Saki back to life led him to commit many atrocious acts in his attempts to accomplish so.
In one occasion, when the doctor was killing one of his many victims, a young boy called Hisoka Kurosaki happened to be there to witness the assassination. Muraki, with his sadistic personality, decided to abuse of the boy and then blocked his memories and set a curse on him to make him die slowly.
Little did he know though that he'd later meet the boy again, accompanied by the man who would become his obsession: Tsuzuki Asato.
Trough research from his grandfather's patients files Muraki came to the conclusion that perhaps the body of Tsuzuki could be used to bring his half-brother back to life, seeing as how that man had an impressive healing ability and could survive without nourishment.
Thus the hunt for that body began.
